As we embark on the year 2018, the Hong Kong Investor Relations Association has approached the 10th year since  establishment. It is our pride that we have been building a strong and vibrant IR community in Hong Kong.

HKIRA was established in 2008, the year of "financial tsunami". A handful of IR professionals consociated during the turbulent times in aligned vision that it was ever more important for companies to proactively engage with their investors, and professional IR practitioners could make a huge contribution for a fair valuation of a company.

Since then, experienced like-minds and young professionals joined force, and the number of HKIRA members grew to now approaching 700.

2017	Published the first publication Investor Relations Best Practice Guide

HKIRA will organize various decennial celebrations, such as global IR conference and activities to network with world-wide IR practitioners, and to raise the stand of the IR profession in Hong Kong. We look forward to receiving continued support and consolidated strengths to develop a better IR community.
 

On 11th December 2017, HKIRA proudly announced the launch of “Investor Relations Best Practice Guide,” the first book since the association’s establishment. The book offers a closer look at the work nature of the IR industry in Hong Kong with practical tips and advice based on real-life experiences from IR professionals of Hong Kong’s listed companies.

This Guide is a collaborative contribution of 10 prominent professionals from the IR Panel. The Panel was formed in early 2016, and the publication is the very first initiative that members found meaningful and accountable to.

The Investor Relations Symposium on 11 December 2017, jointly organized by HKIRA & HKEX for the 5th time, successfully gathered around 160 IROs, corporate executives and industry professionals attended.

Themed "Sustainability of IR" this year, the program included three presentations and two panel discussions. Distinguished speakers shared their experience on how IT & data governance, non-financial performance disclosures in ESG report and best practices contribute to better IR, and what KPIs are considered useful for IR team evaluation. Representative of HKEX shared their latest initiatives to support IR for listed companies. The afternoon had been a wonderful exchange of eminent thoughts.
