On 28 August, we were delighted to have successfully completed our AGM with the support of many members and Executive members, despite the busy interim result announcement period and typhoons.

During the meeting, financial report was approved and auditor was re-appointed. On the same day, Dr. Eva Chan has been re-elected as the Chairman of HKIRA for another 3-year term. Sincere gratitude to Dr. Chan and all members of Executive Committee for their dedication and contribution to HKIRA.

To enhance the communication between Mainland investors and listed companies after the launch of Shenzhen Connect, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE), under the support of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) and Hong Kong Investor Relations Association (HKIRA), has launched an “Inside Stock Connect Companies” Open Day program.

This event aims to educate investors about the mutual market, and encourage better understanding of the selected listed companies.

Each quarter, Hong Kong listed companies (Stock Connect Southbound) of one particular industry (according to HSI Classification System) are invited to join the program. SZSE will conduct an open and fair voting via online system, for investors to vote for their most interested listco to visit. The three voted companies will then arrange a half-day field visit respectively, with one company visit per month.

The Open Day plans to be conducted in Mainland, and visit the office, factory, store, or project site of the selected company. Senior executives are encouraged to join and meet the investors and to share their strategic plans and operations situations, and answer investors’ questions. SZSE and HKEX will deliver educational presentation and updates on Shenzhen Connect.

Phase 1 has started and the first industry invited is Properties & Construction. It is now in the stage of investors voting.
