The Importance of IR
HKIRA Shared the Significance with MingPao Finance
HKIRA was pleased to be interviewed by MingPao Finance in January, together with Award Panel Judges, Professor Louis Cheng, Professor of Finance of PolyU, and Ms. Victoria Mio, Co-Head Asia Pacific Equities & CIO China of Robeco HK Ltd, on the investor relations profession in Hong Kong.
Our founder Dr. Eva Chan shared with the reporters that with effective communication of investment proposition on the strategy, business and revenue models, plans and risks to investors, the IR department is able to assist investors to make well-informed investment decisions, rendering the company's stock price attaining its fair
value. Ms Mio also highlighted that the IR department of a listed company is in fact one of the main factors to consider when buyers plan to invest in a certain stock. Professor Cheng added that when the company is exposed to commercial or financial risks, or simply during times of political and economic fluctuations, IR plays a crucial role to reduce the risk associate with uncertainty, which is one of the factors that affects the company's stock price.
