Over the past year, Hong Kong’s capital markets have continued to face significant headwinds, including a subdued IPO market, geopolitical uncertainties, and the rapid pace of technological disruption. Yet throughout this challenging period, the city’s investor relations (IR) community has demonstrated remarkable resilience, adaptability, and professionalism. Even as AI and digitalisation reshape the way IR is practised, the commitment of professionals to build trust and engage investors remains irreplaceable.
The HKIRA 11th IR Awards attracted enthusiastic participation despite the testing environment. A diverse pool of institutional investors and analysts from different regions cast their votes, reflecting not only sustained interest but also the strong momentum of new southbound capital and renewed confidence in Hong Kong-listed companies. These are encouraging signs that the market is finding its footing again.
The Awards Presentation Luncheon, held on 27 June 2025, brought together close to 200 guests from listed companies, the investment community, and IR professionals. Nearly 5,000 online participants joined remotely to celebrate the remarkable efforts shaping the future of investor relations in Hong Kong.
The event was honoured by the presence of Dr WONG Tin Yau, Kelvin, SBS, JP, Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission, as Guest of Honour. In his keynote address, “Hong Kong: A City of Financial Tales,” Dr. Wong shared his insights into the evolution of Hong Kong’s financial markets and the essential role of investor relations in sustaining trust and transparency.
Earlier in the day, the morning conference featured timely discussions on the evolving role of IR professionals, the growing impact of AI and differentiated data, new communication strategies, and the outlook for Hong Kong as an international financial centre in a rapidly changing world. Distinguished speakers and panellists shared valuable perspectives that resonated strongly with attendees navigating the shifting landscape.
This year, 37 winning companies were selected after rigorous evaluation. Their achievements have truly elevated the bar for IR excellence in Hong Kong. These companies serve as inspiring examples for the profession, demonstrating the ability to rise to challenges and seize opportunities presented by the evolving capital markets.
Winners of the “Overall Best IR Company” and “Grand ESG Award” were:
- Large Cap: China Resources Beer (Holdings) Company Limited
- Mid Cap: Yue Yuen Industrial (Holdings) Limited
- Small Cap: SF Real Estate Investment Trust
HKIRA extends heartfelt gratitude to all nominators, engaged voters, our judging panel, generous sponsors, supporting organisations, speakers, and every participant who made this year’s awards possible. We look forward to welcoming even more outstanding examples of IR excellence at the HKIRA 12th Investor Relations Awards next year.
