With an objective to promote the significance of investor relations profession in the listed companies and among the investment community, HKIRA launched an IR Pledge Program to recognize companies achieving excellence in investor relations work. This Program also aims to set a new market benchmark in the investment community and serve as a tool to help investors to identify companies maintaining good standards and resources in investor relations.
At the moment, we have 14 reputable listed companies under IR Pledge. We strongly encourage those corporate members adopting HKIRA IR Best Practices and Guidelines to apply for the IR Pledge Program. As a participant, your company name will be listed under IR Pledge on the HKIRA’s website and you will be authorized to use HKIRA IR Pledge logo on your company website and business publications.
Companies with the IR Pledge status will be invited as speakers to share their IR best practices with the investment community at the events organized by HKIRA. For IR Pledge companies that have won prizes in the HKIRA’s Annual IR Awards, HKIRA will design the Excellent IR Service Benchmark with reference to their IR achievement and contribution. The constituent companies of the benchmark will serve as the gold standard for other companies to follow in terms of best practice of IR. Working with the Research Institute for Business at Hang Seng University, an IR intelligence report together with the IR Service Benchmark will enhance information transparency for IR practice in Hong Kong and Mainland China, leading to a higher quality of IR practice for the region.

A listed company is committed to following best investor relations practice should apply. Requirements include:
(i) hire at least one full-time dedicated IR staff
(ii) publish shareholder communication policy on its corporate website
(iii) C-levels or senior management attend investor meetings regularly
(iv) maintain good relationships with stakeholders
Subscription fee is HK$3,800 per year. An application fee of HK$1,000 at the first time of application.

NIRI's Certification Program - Investor Relations Charter (IRC®) – USA
Hong Kong Investor Relations Association (HKIRA) is pleased to continue our collaboration with NIRI – National Investor Relations Institute to bring the Investor Relations Charter (IRC®) Certification Program to IR practitioners in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
NIRI has announced that from March 1, 2022, they will go live with the IRC exam on demand and online with live remote proctoring. Approved candidates can sit for the exam at the time of their choosing and in their preferred location as long they meet the security and system requirements.
NIRI has also added some tools for the convenience of the test takers including an on-screen notepad, an on-screen calculator, and an optional 10-minute break.
Attendees who pass the examination and meet all the necessary requirements by NIRI, will receive a certification welcome package from NIRI to confirm their success. IRC designation can be used to denote certificate on the corporate collaterals of the successfully completed attendees.
