You are invited to an in-person meeting with Bing Leng (Beijing), Board Member of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), and Neil Stewart (New York), Director of Corporate Outreach for the IFRS Foundation, as they give an update on the progress of the ISSB and its IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 standards, which are creating a global baseline of high-quality sustainability disclosure for the capital markets.

Hong Kong is among the initial set of jurisdictions with a target of fully adopting ISSB Standards to enhance transparency, enable investor decision-making and promote capital flows. The ISSB Standards’ focus on financially material information on sustainability-related risks and opportunities that affect companies’ prospects make them a critical tool for investor relations. Many of the world’s largest institutional investors, who in the past asked for TCFD and SASB reporting, are now turning to ISSB Standards.

Topics will include:

  • Global adoption of the ISSB Standards in Hong Kong and 36 other jurisdictions
  • Efficiency in reporting across standards and frameworks (e.g., CSRD, CDP, GRI, SASB and ISSB)
  • How the ISSB Standards integrate the TCFD recommendations
  • The role of SASB industry standards in ISSB reporting and current consultation on nine industries
  • Insights into the future direction of the ISSB Standards, including the consideration of nature and human capital topics
  • Recently published educational materials related to the ISSB Standards
